Where to begin! Our Acura MDX (YD3) recently overheated (leaking coolant) and had the Check Engine light come on for multiple codes at the beginning of January 2026... We purchased the car a few years ago, used from a private party. The Timing belt and Water pump had just been replaced before we bought it a few years ago, so we thought we were in the clear for that service for at least another 5 years. No such luck - we have observed coolant leaking out of the car for a few weeks, and had to keep refilling the reservoir. Be brought MDX into Precision to help us find the source of the leak - it turned out that the "new-ish" water pump was to blame. In addition to the leak, the MDX had multiple check engine lights (knock sensors over-voltage, and Bank-1 Oil Pressure switch failure) and poor throttle response (rough idling). Lastly, we knew the front shocks/struts were in need of replacement as the ride quality had degraded (>100k miles, original struts/shocks). Precision Import Repair's expert technicians were able to troubleshoot and resolve all these issues QUICKLY and EFFECTIVELY. We now have a new timing belt and water pump, the throttle body has been completely cleaned and repaired, the bank 1 pressure switch and knock sensors were replaced, and front shock are new. We compared the pricing for each of these repairs with various other shops (dealers/3rd party)... NONE of them could match the price and/or workmanship warranty that Precision could. Precision did not recommend unneeded work and was very communicative throughout the entire process. After all the work, it feels like we are driving a new car! The difference in responsiveness is night and day; the ride quality is like-new; and the root cause for the check engine light was expertly identified and fixed (not a band-aid fix). Precision is our GO-TO shop, and we recommend Precision to anyone needing routine maintenance or repair work on their cars!

This shop is probably a good fit for many vehicles and was efficient and well organized. However, for Volkswagen-specific engine issues, the level of expertise and diagnostic capabilities were not sufficient to provide a clear recommendation, and I was asked to choose between possible repairs rather than being guided by a definitive assessment. VW owners with more complex concerns may be better served by a dedicated specialist. I wish the team at Precision the very best.
